Real Madrid have reportedly decided that Karim Benzema could be allowed to leave the Bernabeu if they receive an offer of £45m.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Frenchman throughout the summer, but an official approach has not yet been made and Real boss Rafael Benitez has repeatedly made it clear that the striker is not leaving.
However, the Daily Mail claims that key members of the club's hierarchy would be willing to listen to offers for Benzema if Arsenal decide he is worth paying a new club-record fee.
The report suggests that the decision to use Gareth Bale in a central position could even result in him moving up front this season, and Benzema's departure could persuade Real to launch a move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus.
Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is also reported to be a target for the Gunners.
