Sunderland have reportedly reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Carl Jenkinson on a season-long loan deal.
Last term, the England Under-21 international was loaned out to West Ham United, who were said to have been eager to retain his services for the 2015-16 campaign.
However, despite interest from the Hammers and Southampton, new Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has won the race to sign the 23-year-old, according to The Mirror.
The report adds that the Gunners have no desire to sell Jenkinson and as well as loaning him out for a second season, they will also offer the right-back a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Jenkinson joined the North Londoners from Charlton Athletic in 2011.
