Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been plotting a January move for struggling Atletico Madrid forward Thomas Lemar.
The Frenchman, who moved to Atletico for £53m in July 2018, has failed to live up to expectations under Diego Simeone, managing just nine La Liga appearances this term.
Reports have claimed that both Spurs and Arsenal are interested in completing a deal for Lemar over the next few weeks.
According to The Independent, Spurs are keen on striking a loan deal for the forward with an option to buy for £51m in the summer.
Atletico would be willing to dispense with Lemar in order to fund the wages of Edinson Cavani, who has been heavily linked with a move to the Wanda Metropolitano this month.
The report states that Spurs and Arsenal are just two of several European clubs who are monitoring the player's situation.
