Emiliano Viviano has insisted that the competition to be Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper is a "good thing" following his move from Palermo.
The 27-year-old Italian keeper signed a season-long loan deal with the Gunners on Monday.
"I think it is a good thing that there are other great goalkeepers here," Viviano told the club's official website. "It is a positive fight.
"We are at work every day together and I am sure there will be great friendship. I will work hard with them to [compete]."
Viviano spent last season on loan with Fiorentina.
