Stan Collymore is confident that Tim Sherwood will boost Aston Villa as they try to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The former Tottenham Hotspur coach was appointed as Paul Lambert's successor almost a fortnight ago, but got his reign off to a losing start.
The Midlands outfit led through Scott Sinclair against Stoke City on Saturday, but a last-minute penalty to the visitors meant that Villa were forced to accept a 2-1 defeat.
Collymore told the Villa News & Record: "He's young and he's hungry for success - Tim Sherwood is my sort of manager.
"Hopefully he will be a perfect fit after taking over from Paul Lambert in the Villa Park hot seat. I reckon Tim is the right man to take charge for what is going to be a very tough run-in to the season."
Villa are currently second from bottom in the league table.
