Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph has backed manager Tim Sherwood to push the team on to "better things" next season.
Sherwood has led the Villans to seven victories in 13 games since replacing Paul Lambert in the dugout at Villa Park three months ago.
Villa are currently four points above the Premier League relegation zone, while they also have an FA Cup final against Arsenal to look forward to on May 30.
"I'm really enjoying it here and I'm really enjoying being captain of Villa. It is great to be captain of such a big football club," Delph told their official website.
"It feels like I've been here a long time now and I've never enjoyed my football as much as I am at the moment. The gaffer has been amazing with me and the rest of the boys. We have a great dressing room and if we get through this season, I'm sure we'll be pushing on to better things."
Villa continue their battle for Premier League survival on Saturday when they face Southampton at St Mary's Stadium.
