Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has expressed his disappointment following his side's 1-0 loss against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Craig Gardner scored the winner for the Baggies after Villa's Kieran Richardson was sent off in the first half for a challenge on Stephane Sessegnon.
After the game at The Hawthorns, Lambert told BBC Sport: "I'm disappointed but I felt we did well with 10 men.
"The sending-off changed the course of the game. I don't think there was any malice in it but I can understand why the ref's sent him off. If you go in with your studs you leave yourself open for that.
"I think we are playing well at the moment. When you lose any game it's not nice. We have to regroup and go on. It's a boost to have Fabian Delph and Ron Vlaar back."
The West Midlands derby defeat leaves Villa 12th in the Premier League table.
