Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert believes that new signing Yacouba Sylla will have the physical presence required to succeed in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old has completed a move to Villa Park from Clermont Foot, bringing much-needed reinforcement in midfield.
The Scot said that Villa beat a few other teams that were interested in his signature.
"Even though he's still a young guy, there were a few teams interested and closely monitoring him," said Lambert.
"I think he'll do well. Physically, he's strong for it and, although he'll be new to it, he's raring to go."
Sylla has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract.
