Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has said that there are "no guarantees" that goalkeeper Shay Given will walk straight back into the first team.
Given, who suffered a hamstring blow last month, returned to training this week after being sidelined for over a month. However, the Scot insists that replacement Brad Guzan's performances have not got unnoticed in his stead.
"Shay is not far away," he told the club's official website. "He's champing on the door to be involved this weekend against Everton.
"He has made great progress. He is training with the group and it's a case of how sharp he's feeling and how confident he's feeling before we make a decision about him coming back into the team.
"There are no guarantees of that obviously because of the way Brad has played. I felt great for him when he made that penalty save against Bristol Rovers in the last game although I was gutted for him that he didn't get the shutout. Brad has been fantastic."
Guzan has conceded ten goals in seven games since taking over from Given.
