Aston Villa are reportedly edging closer to the signing of Leon Bailey after agreeing personal terms with the Bayer Leverkusen attacker.
Bailey - who played a bit-part role for Jamaica at the Gold Cup - has been heavily linked with an exit from Leverkusen after entering the final two years of his deal with the Bundesliga club.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been tipped to rival Villa for the 23-year-old's signature, but Dean Smith's side appear to be on the verge of winning the transfer battle.
According to Football Insider, Villa have been in contact with Bailey's entourage in recent days to discuss personal terms, and the two parties have now reached an agreement in principle.
The onus is now on Villa to meet Leverkusen's asking price for Bailey, but the German outfit are reportedly holding out for a sum of £35m for the former Genk youngster.
Bailey struck nine goals and assisted nine more in 30 Bundesliga games last term, and Arsenal were allegedly interested in him before pulling out of the race amid concerns about his attitude. body check tags ::
