Celtic manager Ronny Deila travelled to the Midlands to watch Aston Villa striker Libor Kozak score twice for the Under-21s against Derby County on Monday.
The Czech Republic international arrived at Villa Park from Lazio in 2013, but his appearances have been limited by a number of injuries, including a broken leg.
It is thought that Villa are prepared to loan out the 26-year-old, which according to Celtic assistant boss John Collins, has captured the attention of Deila.
"Ronny's gone down to have a look at him and he's scored a couple of goals but there's nothing imminent. We're looking to strengthen all over, to be honest," he told reporters.
Kozak has scored four goals in his 15 outings for Villa.
