Athletic Bilbao have wrapped up a place in the latter stages of the Europa League after beating BATE Borisov 2-0 at the San Mames.
Second half goals from Mikel San Jose and Markel Susaeta made sure that the Basque side signed off their Champions League campaign with victory.
The hosts were on the front foot from the beginning as first Ibai Gomez stung the palms of Artem Soroko before San Jose headed narrowly wide.
BATE continued to sustain heavy pressure, but Bilbao showed a wasteful touch in front of goal as first Mikel Rico blazed over before Guillermo Fernandez saw his effort saved.
However, Athletic's fortunes changed after the interval as San Jose latched on to Susaeta's inviting pass before rifling the ball into the top corner of Soroko's net.
Moments later, Fernandez thought he had added a second for the dominant La Liga outfit as his well-struck shot came back off the post.
The hosts did make sure of victory two minutes from time when Borja Viguera teed up Susaeta and the playmaker duly tucked the ball into the bottom corner.
