Eduardo Berizzo has reportedly agreed a deal to take over at Athletic Bilbao, with confirmation of the appointment expected later this week.
The 48-year-old was sacked by Sevilla in late December, exactly a week after returning from cancer surgery.
The Argentine is now set to manage La Liga counterparts Athletic, according to Marca, replacing current boss Kuko Ziganda.
Bilbao are currently 13th in the La Liga table, nine points off a Europa League spot.
Aside from Sevilla, Berizzo has also managed Spanish club Celta Vigo and assisted the Chilean national team.
