Athletic Bilbao have announced that Mikel Rico suffered a sprained ankle in Monday's 2-1 win over Levante.
The experienced midfielder, who moved to Bilbao from Granada in the summer, was forced to leave the field in the first period following a late challenge from Victor Casadesus.
It had initially been thought that Rico had suffered a serious injury, but subsequent tests revealed only a minor sprain to his ankle.
It is currently unclear how long the Spaniard will be out of action.
