Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has claimed that his team's supporters will have a big role to play in Tuesday's Champions League last-16 second leg against PSV Eindhoven.
The tie is currently delicately poised following a goalless draw in the first leg last month, but Simeone feels that his side have an advantage due to the atmosphere that the Vicente Calderon can create.
"The stadium itself, before major events, responds in the best way. I hope for a great response from the team. [The fans] will be important," Simeone told AS.
"PSV's best feature is the counter-attack. They work well in the spaces, they work well at dead balls. We're different as teams, although our numbers are close. I imagine an important game, with different systems. It will be a good match."
Before the first leg last month, Atletico and PSV had only ever locked horns on two previous occasions and both of those matches were in the group stages of the 2008-09 Champions League.
