Diego Simeone has admitted that he was "really impressed" with Atletico Madrid's performance in their goalless draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League this evening.
The Spanish champions played to a stalemate with the defending European title holders in the first leg of their quarter-final tie at Vicente Calderon ahead of next week's clash at the Bernabeu, which will decide which team progresses to the last four.
The head coach told reporters: "We were up against a very powerful rival and I'm really impressed with how we changed our style of play after the break.
"They are playing the second leg in front of their own fans and they will make a huge effort so we have to try and keep our heads."
Atletico were beaten by their local rivals in the final of the Champions League last season.
