Diego Simeone has revealed that he has "no interest" in the result of El Clasico this weekend, as the Atletico Madrid manager focuses on closing the gap at the top of La Liga.
Simeone's side currently sit one point behind Real Madrid in second, while Barcelona have a four-point lead over Atletico at the top of the table.
A win for Real in the Clasico will see Rafael Benitez's side go level with Luis Enrique's team, but Simeone insists that he is not interested in the result as he concentrates on his side's upcoming fixtures.
"The truth is I have no interest [in the Clasico]. What interests me is that we play a good game and keep going in the way we have been," the 45-year-old told reporters.
"There are big games in this round. Sevilla are also going to San Sebastian and that's a difficult game, too.
"We have to focus on what we have to do. I expect a very strong team, especially with the players they have up front."
Atletico will look to close the gap on the league leaders to one point when they take on Real Betis in tomorrow evening's game.
