Saul Niguez has insisted that while he was 'disappointed' to be left out of the Spain squad for Euro 2016, he has no hard feelings over his omission from the squad.
Despite impressing for Atletico during the 2015-16 campaign, the 21-year-old just missed out on a spot in Spain's 23-man selection.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder has refused to dwell on the decision, however, and has vowed to continue improving in a bid to secure a regular spot with his national team, who have won the last two editions of the European Championships.
"I'm resting and enjoying time with my family, although I'd have liked to be [at Euro 2016] and it was great to have been in the provisional squad," Football Espana quotes Saul as saying. "I have to keep working hard at my club because sooner or later I'll be there. I'll cheer on Spain [at the Euros]."
Saul scored eight times in 34 appearances for Atletico last term.
