Fernando Torres and Tiago have given Atletico Madrid a first-half lead against Getafe, with the two goals coming at the start and end of the half.
Torres repaid Diego Simeone's faith for starting him up front alongside Raul Jimenez, after the Argentine coach demoted Antoine Greizmann to the substitutes' bench.
Koke had a golden opportunity to double the lead on the 15-minute mark, as Jimenez found the midfielder inside the the six-yard box but only managed to place his shot straight at Vicente Guaita in the Getafe net.
The reigning La Liga champions could have been four or five up within the first half-hour but failed to take clear-cut chances.
Getafe had a couple of their own chances to equalise in the first 45 minutes but Simeone's side put their bodies on the line to keep their lead.
The hosts applied some pressure on the visitors just before the break, as they had a string of corners that were nervously kept out.
However, Getafe conceded a second goal minutes before the half-time whistle, as a free kick from the right-hand side was turned in by Tiago, doubling Atletico's lead.
