Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to offer Matty Cash a lucrative new deal to keep him on the books at Villa Park.
The Poland international has continued to impress in the West Midlands under the tutelage of Steven Gerrard, registering three goals and three assists from 29 Premier League games this term.
Cash is under contract at Villa until the summer of 2025, but Atletico Madrid have supposedly identified the 24-year-old as an ideal replacement for Kieran Trippier.
According to Football Insider, Villa have no plans to part ways with Cash and are hopeful of fending off interest from the La Liga champions with a bumper new contract.
The report adds that Atletico have been scouting Cash regularly since Trippier's departure for Newcastle United, with a report last month claiming that Diego Simeone was 'seriously interested' in signing the right-back.
Cash has amassed three goals and six assists in 59 appearances for Aston Villa since his arrival from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2020. body check tags ::
