Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has been stretchered off in the closing stages of his side's 2-0 victory over Getafe this evening.
Costa suffered a gash on his leg having collided with the post in the process of scoring his side's second goal, which came just six minutes from time.
The in-form striker, who has scored 34 times for his side this season, received treatment on the field before being carried off and replaced by Cristian Rodriguez.
An ambulance was stopped at the rear of the stadium shortly after the incident, and it is believed that the Spaniard was taken to hospital to assess the extent of the damage.
Costa had earlier missed a penalty in the match, which Atletico went on to win to take them three points clear at the top of La Liga with just five games to play.
