Unai Emery has admitted that Atletico Madrid were the "superior" side as they triumphed 4-0 over Sevilla yesterday.
Two goals in either half from Diego Simeone's outfit condemned Sevilla to their first lost of the season, and Emery said that his side simply "weren't able to stop" the La Liga champions.
"We knew we would have a lot of things going against us that we would need to overcome on the field of play," Emery is quoted as saying by FourFourTwo.
"They were superior in both aspects of the game, we weren't able to stop the pressure they applied. They were better.
"When they went up 2-0, they tightened up defensively. A loss like this needs to serve as a lesson in humility. We need to know which is our league."
Sevilla currently reside in fourth place in La Liga.
