Colombian forward Radamel Falcao has said that he 'still feels like a part of Atletico Madrid' despite leaving the Spanish outfit for Monaco last summer.
The 28-year-old scored 70 times in 91 games for Atletico during two seasons in Madrid and he has praised his former side for their success this season.
"My friends are at Atletico and although I left, I still feel like I'm a part of the club and that's why I'm going to strongly support them," he told reporters after picking up the Best Latin American Player award in the Spanish capital.
"What Atletico are doing is very exciting. The team has had a very impressive season and they are at the brink of doing things that not very long ago, no-one would've dreamed they could do.
"It's exciting to win a title of this magnitude after Real Madrid and Barcelona have had control of it for so long."
Atletico currently sit atop La Liga, while they will contest the final of the Champions League with Real Madrid later this month.
