Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia has claimed that he is 'not surprised' by Jose Gimenez's recent form for the Spanish champions.
The young centre-back has had to bide his time at Atletico, but has been given a run in the side in recent weeks due to an injury to Miranda.
The Uruguay international has impressed at the heart of the defence, while he netted his first Atletico goal in Saturday's 2-0 win over Elche.
"No, it doesn't surprise me. He's been working with us for a long time and I know him well," Garcia told reporters.
"He hasn't had as many minutes as some of the other players but he is fully prepared to compete."
The 19-year-old joined Atletico from Danubio in 2013.
