Atletico Madrid striker Raul Jimenez has welcomed Fernando Torres to the Vicente Calderon.
Jimenez has struggled to hold down a first-team spot at the capital outfit this season after arriving from Mexico in the summer.
Torres's arrival from AC Milan is expected to further decrease Jimenez's involvement, but the forward has relished the competition at the Spanish champions.
"I always knew that I couldn't leave, I'm happy at the club and I want to earn my place. I knew from the first day that a player can't play for three teams in the same season per FIFA rules," he told Record.
"Torres? Internal competition is very important, I want through the same thing at America. The same thing is happening at Atletico Madrid and this helps you to continue growing."
Torres will remain on loan at Atletico until the end of next season.
