Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has hailed his side following their La Liga title win.
Simeone's side secured their first crown since 1996 when they drew 1-1 with Barcelona at the Camp Nou, as Diego Godin's second-half goal cancelled out Alexis Sanchez's strike handing them the point they needed to win the title.
He told reporters: "We always believed in the famous 'game by game'. We thought sincerely it would work for us.
"This shows there are different ways to win. All ways to play are good. The characteristics of players always the most important.
"In no moment did I think the team was out of the match. They respond to difficulties - the harder it is, the better they play."
Atletico face Real Madrid in the Champions League final next week as they look to secure a famous double.
