Atletico Madrid midfielder Tiago has called on the Spanish champions to offer manager Diego Simeone a new 10-year deal.
The Argentine's work at Atletico over the last couple of seasons has made him one of the most in-demand managers in world football.
Manchester City are said to be interested in the former midfielder, but Atletico are reportedly in the process of offering Simeone a new five-year contract.
"We heard about his renewal in the press," AS has quoted Tiago as saying. "We're very pleased. I think they're talking about five years. What we want is for it to be 10. The players are very happy and the fans are happy with him too."
"I sincerely wish [Simeone can emulate Sir Alex Ferguson]. It's up to the coach and the club and we can't let it distract us. This is a very important time of the season."
Simeone, 44, took charge of the Spanish side in 2011.
