Atletico Madrid moved level on points with La Liga leaders Barcelona with a 2-0 win over capital rivals Getafe on Tuesday.

Antoine Griezmann was the star of the show at the Calderon, with the Frenchman notching both goals for the hosts.

Atletico have moved temporarily into second position in the table, while Getafe sit 15th having now lost four of their opening five league games of the new season.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each player performed in Madrid.

ATLETICO

Goal

Jan Oblak: Did not have an awful lot to do for long spells, but made a smart save to deny Stefan Scepovic at the end of the first period. Was also strong when coming for crosses. (6/10)

Defence

Juanfran: Usually such a threat down the right, but the defender was a little quiet in an attacking sense. Still did well at the back, but not quite up to his usual standards down the other end. (6/10)

Diego Godin: Had a comfortable first period, but really came into his own in the latter stages when Getafe launched an aerial assault. Such a dominant player for this Atletico team. (7/10)

Stefan Savic: Can be pleased with his debut for the capital side. Complemented Godin's style and was prepared to put his foot on the ball when possible. A positive night for the defender. (7/10)

Guilherme Siqueira: Brought into the team as Filipe Luis was given a rest and the full-back took his chance. Picked up a booking early on, but was a constant threat down the left for the hosts. (7/10)

Midfield

Gabi: Set up Griezmann for Atletico's first of the match and had a strong second half when the hosts needed composure on the ball. A solid display from the Atletico skipper. (7/10)

Saul Niguez: Was not heavily involved in the final third, but performed a solid defensive job for his team. Kept the ball moving in central areas during what was a tidy and mature performance. (7/10)

Oliver Torres: Ran the show in the first period as he picked up space outside the Getafe box, but faded a touch in the second and was replaced in the 65th minute by Tiago. (7/10)

Attack

Antoine Griezmann: Once again the go-to man for Atletico. Opened the scoring with a cool finish in the fourth minute, before adding a second in the 90th minute. Always a threat in the final third. (8/10)

Fernando Torres: Earned a start after an excellent second-half performance against Eibar last time out, but despite plenty of running, the Spaniard did not really get into the match. (6/10)

Yannick Ferreira Carrasco: Was somewhat surprisingly withdrawn at the interval after a bright first period. Only had one shot, which flew wide of the post, but he was exciting in possession. (6/10)

Substitutes

Angel Correa: Had an excellent game at Eibar on Saturday and was once again very impressive here after coming on at the interval. Caused Getafe a whole host of problems with his ability on the ball. (8/10)

Jackson Martinez: Did not enter the match until just before the hour, but could and perhaps have scored twice. Gave Getafe a torrid time and did excellently to set up Griezmann for his second. (7/10)

Tiago: Was introduced in the 65th minute to add experience to the midfield and that is what occurred. The Portuguese, however, did pick up a yellow card for a poor challenge on Alvaro Medran. (6/10)

GETAFE

Goal

Vicente Guaita: Was left exposed by his defence for both Griezmann goals and actually made some really smart saves. Can be pleased with his own performance on a personal level. (6/10)

Defence

Damian Suarez: Found Siqueira difficult to handle in the first period, but delivered a couple of dangerous crosses of his own down the other end. A tenacious performance from the full-back. (6/10)

Santiago Vergini: As expected, the tall centre-back was excellent in the air and that attribute proved crucial on a number of occasions. Managed to deal with the threat of Fernando Torres. (7/10)

Alexis: Made a number of important interceptions throughout the match, but it was his lazy defending in the fourth minute that allowed Griezmann to open the scoring in Madrid. (6/10)

Carlos Vigaray: Showed excellent character to remain on the field despite picking up two separate head injuries. Was never afraid to get forward on what was a good display from the 21-year-old. (7/10)

Midfield

Alvaro Medran: Getafe's best player on the night. Was excellent in possession as he found pockets of space all over the field. Set up Pedro Leon for his team's best chance with a super pass. (7/10)

Juan Rodriguez: Was tasked with protecting his back four and that is a job that the Spaniard performed to a high standard. Was replaced in Getafe's third and final change late on. (6/10)

Victor Rodriguez: Would have been expected to have supported lone forward Stefan Scepovic, but the Spaniard did not really see enough of the ball throughout the match. (6/10)

Attack

Pedro Leon: Had an outstanding chance to level the scores just past the hour, but after breaking through on goal, the skipper could only poke his effort wide of the post. (6/10)

Stefan Scepovic: Had two good opportunities in the latter stages of the first period, but could only hit the side netting before bringing a smart save from Oblak. Looked lively in patches. (6/10)

Angel Lafita: Was involved in some decent moments for the visitors, but picked up a yellow card for an elbow on Gabi before being withdrawn for the final 10 minutes of action. (6/10)

Substitutes

Wanderson: Introduced in the 70th minute as Getafe boss Fran Escriba looked for more invention in the final third, but the Brazilian did not have much service in the latter stages. (6/10)

Alvaro Vasquez: Somewhat of a surprise that the leading scorer from last season did not start and he did not have much of an impact during the final 10 minutes here. (6/10)

Bernard Mensah: Would have been some story if the attacker had scored against his parent club, but luckily for Atletico, the 20-year-old did not see much of the ball after coming on late on. (6/10)
