Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid could not be separated in Monday's La Liga clash in the Spanish capital.
Both sides had opportunities, but neither could make the breakthrough during the goalless draw.
Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed during the all-Madrid affair.
RAYO VALLECANO
Goal
Cristian Alvarez: Extremely accomplished on his Rayo debut. Made a brilliant save to deny Mario Mandzukic in the first period and was confident from crosses. (7/10)
Defence
Quini: Performed his defensive duties admirably, but was also a threat in the final third, seeing a couple of long-range efforts whistle wide of the post. (7/10)
Ze Castro: Dealt with the physical threat of both Mandzukic and Raul Jimenez in a strong display at the heart of the back four. (7/10)
Abdoulaye Ba: Another that made a big impact on his debut. Aerially dominant and displayed a calmness in possession. Looks to be a shrewd signing by the club. (8/10)
Tito: Did not venture forward as often as Quini on the opposite side, but proved strong in defensive areas. His experience in the dressing room will be key with the number of additions this summer. (7/10)
Midfield
Raul Baena: Combative midfielder picked up a booking in the first period, but it did not harm his second-half display. Box-to-box performance from the Spaniard. (7/10)
Roberto Trashorras: Used all of his experience to control the tempo from the middle of the park. Went unnoticed for long spells, but was always in position. (7/10)
Gael Kakuta: Struggled to make his mark in the first period, but was very bright in the second. Always involved and always prepared to take players on. (7/10)
Attack
Javier Aquino: Was a surprise that Villarreal let him leave on loan this summer and he was very impressive on his debut. Gave Cristian Ansaldi a torrid time in the second period. (8/10)
Jonathan Pereira: Was deployed as the most advanced of the forwards, but struggled to influence proceedings before being replaced by Manucho early in the second half. (6/10)
Alberto Bueno: Threatened with a couple of efforts in the second half, but did not really take the initiative like a number of his teammates. (6/10)
Substitutes
Manucho: Introduced early in the second period and turned the tide for Rayo. Could not convert any of his opportunities late on, but caused panic in the Atletico defence. A brilliant cameo. (8/10)
ATLETICO MADRID
Goal
Miguel Moya: Did not have too much to do until the second period - when he made some smart saves. Has been very impressive in the early stages of his Atletico career. (7/10)
Defence
Juanfran: Usually one of his side's most dangerous players from a wide position, but struggled to make his mark this evening as he battled to contain the interchanging Rayo attack. (6/10)
Diego Godin: As ever, a dominant figure at the heart of the defence. His side's attackers did not perform, but he was faultless alongside Miranda once again. (8/10)
Miranda: Found Manucho tough to handle in the second period, but remained strong under late pressure. Atletico always have a chance with such a solid central defence. (7/10)
Cristian Ansaldi: Was drafted into the XI when Guilherme Siqueira pulled up in the warm-up and he struggled to contain the pace of Aquino, especially in the second period. (6/10)
Midfield
Mario Suarez: Protected his defence for the majority of the contest, but looked tired in the latter stages under constant Rayo pressure. (6/10)
Koke: Often his side's most creative player from a central position, but struggled to make his mark this evening. A rare quiet display from the Spaniard. (6/10)
Gabi: Arguably the best of the midfield three, but too often looked sideways rather than forward when in possession of the ball. (6/10)
Attack
Antoine Griezmann: Scored plenty of goals for Real Sociedad in similar matches last season, but could not make his mark during a frustrating night for the Frenchman. (6/10)
Mario Mandzukic: Had the best two chances of the first period, but could not take either. Worked hard, but struggled for service as the match advanced. (6/10)
Raul Jimenez: Handed a surprise start, but failed to make an impact. Looks to have all the attributes to become a top striker, but will need time to settle in a new country. (5/10)
Substitutes
Saul Niguez: Seen as a key part of the first-team squad this season, but struggled to make an impact during his second-half cameo in the capital. (6/10)
Hector Hernandez: Young forward replaced Mandzukic 15 minutes from time, but was a big ask to make an impact during a period when Rayo were dominating the ball. (6/10)
Cristian Rodriguez: Made his usual late substitute appearance after 84 minutes, but did not have enough time to make a serious impact. (6/10)
