AC Milan are reportedly expected to be presented with the opportunity to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.
Ever since Traore made the temporary switch to Barcelona in January 2022, it has been expected that he would not remain at Wolves past the end of his existing contract.
The Spain international has since return from Camp Nou to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Molineux, remaining a key part of the first-team squad.
That has especially proven to be the case under Julen Lopetegui, who has consistently used the 27-year-old in the starting lineup or off the substitutes' bench.
In total, Traore has 13 starts and 15 substitute outings to his name this campaign, and the attacker is thought to be enjoying his football under Lopetegui.
Nevertheless, Traore now has three-and-a-half months remaining on his existing deal, leaving him in line to depart Wolves on a free transfer.
Traore is known to be open to a longer period in La Liga having been limited to two brief spells in the Barcelona senior ranks, but it appears that he could have the opportunity to move to Serie A.
According to Calciomercato, his representative Mendes intends to offer Milan the chance to sign his client over the coming weeks.
While Milan are already well stocked for options on the right flank, signing a player who possesses game-changing qualities could prove difficult to turn down.
Napoli have also been linked with a move for Traore, although the wideman would likely only be regarded as backup at the likely Serie A champions.
In terms of interest from Spain, Atletico Madrid have recently been credited as admirers as they consider using the free-agent market.
With Wolves fighting for survival in the Premier League, a decision is unlikely to be made on his future until it is determined whether Wolves will be plying their trade in the top flight or Championship during 2023-24.
Traore, who is in his fifth season at Wolves, has contributed 14 goals and 19 assists from his 184 appearances in all competitions. body check tags ::
