Atletico Madrid are reportedly ready to re-ignite their long-standing interest in Benfica attacker Nicolas Gaitan.
The Argentine, who has also been strongly linked with Manchester United over the last couple of transfer windows, was said to be close to moving to Atletico in the summer, but the two clubs could not agree a fee.
According to A Bola, Atletico are still very much in the hunt for the 27-year-old and will launch another offer when the winter window opens at the start of next month.
It has also been claimed that Atletico sent scouts to watch Gaitan during Benfica's 3-0 win over Academica de Coimbra on Friday.
Gaitan, who joined Benfica from Boca Juniors in the summer of 2010, has scored three times in four Champions League games this season.
