Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa has revealed his delight after being named in the 23-man Spain squad for the World Cup this summer.
It had been feared that the 25-year-old would miss out with a hamstring injury, but the Brazilian-born striker made the cut when Vicente del Bosque named his travelling party on Saturday.
"The truth is I'm very happy. It's a happy day for me. I am thrilled to go to the World Cup in Brazil with Spain. I am very happy," he told reporters.
"I'm very well. I've been working with physios and rehabilitation trainers and I feel great. Starting tomorrow I will work with the team under Vicente Del Bosque.
"I hope to have a few minutes next week in the game against El Salvador in Washington."
Spain face El Salvador in a friendly on June 7 before opening their World Cup Group B campaign against Netherlands on June 13.
