A Neymar penalty has given Barcelona a 1-0 lead over BATE Borisov in their Champions League clash this evening.
The hosts began the match positively, and came close to an early lead as Neymar found Luis Suarez in a good position, before the Uruguayan striker dragged a shot wide.
BATE goalkeeper Syarhey Chernik denied Neymar in a one-on-one opportunity, before Barca stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen kept out an Ihar Stasevich free kick at the other end of the pitch.
Barcelona were awarded a penalty on the half-hour mark as Munir El Haddadi was brought down by Filip Mladenovic in the box. Neymar took the spot kick, and fired past Chernik to give the hosts the lead.
Adriano almost doubled his side's lead moments later, as the left-back struck the post from inside the BATE penalty area, before Neymar headed over the bar from a Daniel Alves corner.
