TEAMS!
BARCELONA: Ter Stegen; Roberto, Umtiti, Lenglet, Firpo; De Jong, Busquets, Rakitic; Dembele, Suarez, Messi
DORTMUND: Burki; Piszczek, Akanji, Hummels, Schulz; Witsel, Weigl; Hakimi, Brandt, Guerreiro; Reus
Gerard Pique's absence through suspension means that Samuel Umtiti starts alongside Clement Lenget in central defence for Barcelona, while Junior Firpo and Sergi Roberto feature in the full-back positions with Jordi Alba and Nelson Semedo both injured. Ivan Rakitic is preferred over Arthur in the middle of the park, while Ousmane Dembele gets the nod over Antoine Griezmann alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in the final third of the field.
As for Dortmund, there is no question that it is a defensive side for the visitors when considering that Jadon Sancho and Thorgan Hazard are both on the bench. Achraf Hakimi and Raphael Guerreiro will play in support of lone forward Marco Reus, with Axel Witsel and Julian Weigl holding the midfield. Thomas Delaney misses out for the visitors tonight due to an ankle issue, while Paco Alcacer is unavailable due to a knee problem.
Here we go there, we are all set for what should be a fascinating Champions League clash. A win for either guarantees them a spot in the next round. Game on in Spain!
KICKOFF: Barca kick things off at Camp Nou...
CHANCE! ... huge moment early on here as Dortmund break clear before Nico Schulz finds himself free inside the Barca box, but the defender sees his effort blocked before poking wide of the post moments later. Almost the perfect start for the German side here.
Plenty of possession for Barca in the period since that early chance, but the home side are yet to threaten the Dortmund goal. The intensity of the match is incredibly high here.
The home team are doing their best to work some space with plenty of little passes round the corner, but their latest attack has broken down with Dembele looking to force it.
Barca have a free kick in a very dangerous position as Messi works some space before being brought to the ground by Weigl. Big opportunity for the home side here...
... Messi's free kick is straight into the wall. Poor by his standards.
Dembele continues to see plenty of the ball for the home team, although the Frenchman - picked ahead of Griezmann - is yet to really make a difference. Dortmund, meanwhile, have just had another breakaway with Hakimi showing incredible pace down the right.
SAVE! Comfortable for Burki to keep out a strike from Dembele.
Weigl is pressing forward in these early moments as Dortmund look to offer a threat, which has been the case in the first 15 minutes. You do get the feeling that the first goal - if there indeed is one - will be crucial. The tempo remains extremely high here.
Little bit of context as to why Sancho isn't starting tonight...
Bit of possession for Dortmund in the last few minutes, but no real chances to report as the first period continues to develop. Well, not since the early exchanges when the visitors had the only chance of the match thus far. Now 18 minutes on the clock here.
Not too much happening at the moment with Dortmund comfortably dealing with the threat from the home side, who are relying too much on Messi here.
DISALLOWED GOAL! Luis Suarez slides a low effort into the bottom corner of the net, but VAR has ruled it out for offside! Very tight call, but the Uruguay international did appear to be off.
CHANCE! Incredible chance for Dortmund to take the lead as Schulz is found by Hakimi inside the Barcelona box, but the defender fires straight at the goalkeeper!
Doesn't look great for Dembele here. He is down, with both boots off.
BARCELONA SUB! The home side are forced into a change as Antoine Griezmann replaces Dembele, who just cannot seem to stay fit for an extended period.
Might be goalless at Camp Nou but this is a cracking match. Both teams are offering a threat in the final third, and Griezmann will be keen to prove himself having come on here.
GOAL! BARCELONA 1-0 DORTMUND (LUIS SUAREZ)
GOAL! This one counts! Barca take the lead in the 29th minute as Luis Suarez collects a wonderful pass from Messi before managing to squeeze the ball past Burki!
SAVE! Smart save from Burki to keep out a strike from Messi!
PENALTY APPEAL! Griezmann goes down inside the Dortmund box under a challenge from a couple of defenders, but the referee is not interested. One-way traffic at the moment here.
GOAL! BARCELONA 2-0 DORTMUND (MESSI)
GOAL! There's the second! Barca double their advantage on the night as Messi fires into the bottom corner after a terrible mistake from Dortmund at the back! Hummels's poor pass put his team in trouble, and Luis Suarez found Messi for the home side's second!
All gone horribly wrong for Dortmund here.
Dortmund need to be careful that they do not concede a third before the interval here as that would really be curtains in terms of this match. Messi and Suarez are running riot!
Dortmund just cannot seem to keep hold of the ball at the moment as the one-way traffic continues. Little over five minutes of the first period remaining at Camp Nou.
One-way traffic here as Barca continue to pass and probe, with the home side searching for a third which would surely make sure of all the points in this match.
Hakimi looks to break clear for the away side after smart work from Reus in a deep position, although Barca have the players break and again manage to clear their lines.
Griezmann has been bright and inventive for the home side since replacing Dembele, and it would be the perfect night for Barca if they were to win with Messi, Suarez and Griezmann all finding the back of the net. Not long left in the first period here.
We are into the second of two additional minutes at the end of the first period.
HALF TIME: BARCELONA 2-0 DORTMUND
So there we have it, the referee brings the first period to a close with the home side leading 2-0 courtesy of goals from Suarez and Messi. Dortmund actually started quite well, but the Spanish champions are in total control ahead of the second 45 minutes here.
STATISTICS! Barca had 57% of the possession in the first period, while they managed eight attempts, four of which were on target. Dortmund had four attempts of their own although just one found the target. No bookings to report in the opening half of action here.
BENCH WATCH! Barca were forced into a change in the first period with Griezmann taking the place of Dembele, who limped off the field. Valverde still has the likes of Fati, Arthur and Vidal in reserve, though. As for Dortmund, Favre has options in the shape of Gotze, Hazard and Sancho, and it will be fascinating to see what action - if any - is taken at the interval.
KICKOFF: Dortmund resume the action here...
... DORTMUND SUB! Sancho replaces Schulz for the visitors.
CHANCE! Huge chance for the home side to score a third as Messi finds Griezmann inside the Dortmund box, but the attacker sees his powerful strike saved by Burki!
Dortmund will really be hoping that Inter do not win tonight if they are to lose this match. At the moment, Inter are being held in Prague, but the Italian side have plenty of time.
Much better from Dortmund in the last couple of minutes, but the visitors really need a goal if they are to stand a chance of taking something from this match. The problem, though, is that it is difficult to see Barca not scoring at least once more tonight.
YELLOW CARD! Messi (Barcelona) is booked for a perceived dive inside the Dortmund box!
Possession football from the away team in the last couple of minutes although they are not offering much in the final third. Paco Alcacer is a big miss for the German side here.
As it stands, Barca would be heading into the next round while Dortmund would still be second ahead of the final matchday. Inter are still being held at Slavia Prague.
Not an awful lot happening at the moment, the game is drifting, which is what Dortmund cannot afford to do. Little over 30 minutes of the second period remaining here.
We are entering the stage of the match where Favre will surely be thinking about more changes. In truth, Sancho has not really seen the ball since entering the field here.
CHANCE! Big chance for the away side as Sancho delivers a low cross into Brandt, who pokes the ball towards the back of the net, only for Ter Stegen to make a smart save.
Dortmund have not given up much in terms of possession tonight. Indeed, Barca have just shaded it up until this point. But the away side have not really threatened on enough occasions. Little over 25 minutes of the second period remaining in Catalonia.
Inter are still being held in Prague, which will surely be aggravating Conte. The Italian side really need to take advantage of BVB potentially losing this game, potentially.
Not too much for Barca going forward at the moment with the home side certainly dropping their level since the end of the first period. Dortmund must take advantage.
Messi rises high and heads a Roberto cross wide of the post.
GOAL! BARCELONA 3-0 DORTMUND (GRIEZMANN)
GOAL! Barca have their third of the night as Griezmann collects a fine pass from Messi before sliding the ball into the bottom corner. Wonderful, wonderful goal from the home side.
CLOSE! Rakitic fires over the crossbar as Barca look to score a fourth here.
YELLOW CARD! Busquets (Barcelona) is booked for a foul on Witsel.
Messi has been absolutely wonderful for Barca tonight, and this is worrying for Dortmund as they have been well beaten. It does not bode well for the German team here.
Barca are absolutely full of it now as they continue to move the ball in the final third of the field, meaning that Dortmund are just simply chasing shadows here.
YELLOW CARD! Guerreiro (Dortmund) is booked for a foul on Roberto.
OFF THE BAR! Messi crashes a free kick against the crossbar from a wide angle!
DORTMUND SUB! Zagadou replaces Piszczek for the away side.
GOAL! BARCELONA 3-1 DORTMUND (SANCHO)
GOAL! Now then! Stunning hit from Sancho to pick out the top corner from distance, the England international turned inside the box before arrowing one past Ter Stegen.
BARCELONA SUB! Vidal replaces Rakitic for the home side.
Inter have taken the lead against Sparta, which means that Dortmund have dropped to third as things stand. Potentially a huge moment in the section, that is for sure.
Little under 10 minutes of the second period remaining, and a goal for Dortmund in the next few minutes would certainly make it a very interesting conclusion here.
Little over five minutes of the second half remaining now and the match is just drifting a touch. Dortmund are trying to force it but are not really getting anywhere here.
DORTMUND SUB! Gotze replaces Weigl for the away side.
SAVE! Wonderful save from Ter Stegen to push a strike from Sancho onto the crossbar!
Possession football for Dortmund at the moment as we head for stoppage time.
We are into the first of three additional minutes at the end of the match.
BARCELONA SUB! Wague replaces Suarez for the home team.
Smart goalkeeping from Ter Stegen to collect a cross from Bradnt as another Dortmund attack ends without a goal. Not long left in this Champions League clash.
FULL TIME: BARCELONA 3-1 DORTMUND
So there we have it. The referee brings the second period to a close with Barca running out 3-1 winners over Dortmund to book their spot in the round of 16. Barca are through as group winners, but the defeat has seen BVB drop to third in the section behind Inter Milan.
That is just about it from me tonight, but I shall leave you with the match report from what was a very good game at Camp Nou. Thanks for joining us, hope to see you again soon!
