Barcelona travelled to Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday night knowing that a win would see them advance from Group C into the knockout round of the competition.

The Spanish champions dominated the opening 45 minutes in Scotland and led 1-0 at the interval courtesy of a smart finish from Lionel Messi in the 24th minute of action.

Messi then scored his second from the penalty spot in the 55th minute as Barcelona advanced into the last-16 stage of the European Cup as winners of the section.
