Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder after landing awkwardly during the Champions League encounter against Benfica.
Not only will the 34-year-old now miss this Sunday's El Clasico, but he also looks likely to endure a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Puyol went up for a 78th-minute corner and was challenged by Benfica goalkeeper Artur.
When landing, his arm visibly gave way from underneath him and he immediately signalled to the Barcelona bench.
The centre-back has only just recovered from a knee ligament injury.
