Barcelona have confirmed that Gerard Pique suffered a calf injury during Saturday's draw with Athletic Bilbao.
The 34-year-old was only on the field for 31 minutes against Marcelino's men before being forced off, with Ronald Araujo replacing his Spanish counterpart.
Now, Barcelona have revealed on social media that Pique has sustained a calf problem, but the Catalan club did not give an indication of how long the centre-back might be out for.
However, a report from Marca speculates that Pique could miss the next two weeks with the injury, effectively ruling him out of next Sunday's La Liga battle with Getafe.
A serious knee injury bedevilled Pique's 2020-21 season as he made just 23 appearances across all competitions, missing 29 other games for Ronald Koeman's side.
The former Manchester United man joins a hefty list of absentees for Barcelona, who are missing Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Oscar Mingueza and Sergio Aguero through various ailments.
