Ansu Fati had to be replaced at the interval of Barcelona's La Liga clash with Celta Vigo after pulling up with a hamstring problem in the latter stages of the first period.
The 19-year-old has recently worked his way back from a long-term knee injury to featured in eight matches for his Catalan club during the 2021-22 campaign.
Fati made it three goals in five league appearances this season with an effort in the fifth minute of the contest with Celta, before Sergio Busquets and then Memphis Depay got their names on the scoresheet.
However, a positive first half for Barcelona ended in disappointment, as Fati pulled up with a hamstring problem when attempting to catch a through pass from Jordi Alba.
The Spain international immediately signalled to the bench that he would not be able to continue, and the youngster is now seemingly facing a period on the sidelines.
Fati had returned to the Spain squad for their upcoming 2022 World Cup qualification fixtures but will now be unable to represent his country in the November internationals.
