Valencia defender Jordi Alba has admitted that he does not regret his comments about his wish to return to Barcelona.
Alba, 22, was part of the famous La Masia academy between 1998 and 2005 and caused a stir earlier this week when he told Gol Television: "Any player as a kid dreams of winning things with Barca."
The Spanish international refused to backtrack on his comments, however, stating that he was not "disrespectful to Valencia".
"It is clear that for any player of Barcelona's youth squad their dream is to play for the club's first team. I had to get on with my life elsewhere and Valencia gave me the opportunity, that is it," Alba told reporters.
"I was not disrespectful to Valencia in any moment and I did not say anything that was out of this world."
Alba was made 73 appearances for Valencia.
