Barcelona's home match against Las Palmas on Sunday afternoon has reportedly been called off due to protests surrounding the Catalan independence referendum.
The match, scheduled to begin at 3.15pm UK time, was always likely to be in jeopardy because of a lack of police presence to cover the fixture due to scenes of violence elsewhere.
With an hour to go until kickoff the gates to the stadium still remained closed, though no official confirmation as to whether the game will go ahead has yet been given.
Security has been stepped up on matchdays in the city since the terror attack in August, when 13 people were killed and 130 more left injured.
The referendum is being held today despite the best attempts by the Spanish government to block it, leading to further protests throughout the region.
