Barcelona have lost ground on La Liga leaders Real Madrid after their shock 1-0 defeat away at Getafe.

Juan Valera's header gave the Catalan side their first loss of the season on an evening which saw Madrid move six points clear of their rivals with a 4-1 win at home to Atletico Madrid.

A Cristiano Ronaldo brace, along with goals from Angel Di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain gave Jose Mourinho's side the victory.

Barca and Real each play next weekend before their clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, December 10.
