Brazilian legend Cafu has claimed that even Lionel Messi cannot match the technical ability of Paris Saint-Germain winger Neymar.
Neymar played alongside Messi in one of the most vaunted front threes of all time at Barcelona before switching to PSG in a world-record deal worth around £200m in 2017.
The 28-year-old Brazilian has since scored 69 goals and registered 39 assists in just 80 appearances for the French outfit, and Cafu believes that his compatriot is the most technically-gifted player on the planet.
"Technically, Neymar is the best player in the world," Cafu told Fox Sports.
"Today, technically, nobody can beat Neymar. Not even Messi, although I am a fan of him. But he does not surpass him in terms of technical quality."
Despite Neymar's standing as one of the best players of his generation, the attacker has never finished higher than third in the Ballon d'Or voting.
