Barcelona midfielder Alex Song has insisted that his confidence has not been damaged during his first season at the club.

The Cameroon international, who joined from Arsenal in the summer, has been forced to deputise in defence for large parts of the campaign following injuries to key squad members.

"I still have confidence and I am working hard in order to be able to play in midfield and defence," Song is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a surprise summer move for Song.
