How Barcelona could line up against Alaves

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Alaves.

Barcelona still have a number of injury concerns ahead of their La Liga clash with Alaves on Saturday.

Ronald Koeman was sacked as head coach following Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano, and Barcelona B boss Sergi Barjuan has been confirmed as the interim manager ahead of this weekend's contest.

Martin Braithwaite and Pedri will definitely be absent against Alaves, while Ansu Fati, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araujo and Ousmane Dembele remain major doubts.

Dembele is now training with the first team as he recovers from a long-term knee problem, but it seems likely that the France international's first appearance of the season will come off the bench.

There is expected to be a reshuffle from the side that started against Rayo, with Yusuf Demir and Gavi potentially both coming into the starting XI.

Sergino Dest has been playing further forward in recent matches but could drop into the right-back position for this match, while Sergi Roberto might be required in midfield.

Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay are likely to continue in the final third of the field, while Eric Garcia could retain his spot in the middle of the defence alongside Gerard Pique.

Barcelona possible starting lineup: Ter Stegen; Dest, Pique, Garcia, Alba; Busquets, Gavi, Roberto; Demir, Aguero, Memphis body check tags ::
