Barcelona defender Dani Alves was racially abused by sections of the Espanyol crowd during Sunday's 1-1 draw.
Fans inside the Cornella-El Prat stadium were heard to make monkey noises at the Brazilian international when he touched the ball.
Despite the abuse, Alves told a local radio station that he hadn't heard the crowd.
Espanyol president Ramon Condal claimed that "the public's behaviour was a ten".
Barca failed to make ground on La Liga leaders Real Madrid with the draw.
