Barcelona reportedly had the opportunity to sign Napoli forward Fernando Llorente during the final days of the January transfer window.
Despite being linked with a wide range of players, Barcelona failed to bring in a replacement for Luis Suarez, who is expected to be sidelined until May with a knee injury.
However, while offers were rejected for some of their targets, it appears that the Catalan giants were presented with a chance to bring in cover for their first-choice frontman.
According to AS, Llorente was proposed to Barcelona as a potential signing, only for the club to say no to the possibility of the 34-year-old being brought in as cover.
While the Spaniard has made 24 outings for Napoli this season, just four of those appearances have come from the starting lineup.
Teenager Ansu Fati came into the attack on Sunday night, netting both goals as Barca recorded a 2-1 victory over Levante.
