Barcelona sporting director Ariedo Braida has revealed that the Spanish giants will not be making a January move for Fiorentina attacker Federico Bernardeschi.
The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Catalan outfit in recent weeks, and Braida recently admitted that his team are aware of the Italian's talent.
However, talk of a move in the winter window has been played down by Braida, who has said that Barcelona currently have "sufficient numbers" in Bernardeschi's position.
"I made a trip to Basel because I am a friend of the sporting director who is interested in some of our young people," Braida told Radio Anch'Io Sport. "Bernardeschi is a young man of value, a talent, a player who is appreciated. At the moment, though, we do not need him. We have players in that role in sufficient numbers."
Bernardeschi, who came through the youth system at Fiorentina, has made nine Serie A starts for his Italian club this season.
