Barcelona sporting director Ariedo Braida has confirmed that the Spanish giants are interested in signing Fiorentina's Federico Bernardeschi.

A recent report claimed that the 21-year-old had emerged as a transfer target for Barcelona after impressing in Serie A this season.

When questioned on the interest, Braida revealed that the Catalan outfit are admirers of the attacker, who came through the youth system at La Viola.

"Are Barcelona interested in Bernardeschi? Let's say yes, I was in Basel because I work for Barcelona and know the sporting director of the Swiss club very well," he told Radio Blu.

"Bernardeschi is a fantastic player, he's great and I can't say any more. He's a talented guy, luckily there are still a lot of them in Italy."

Bernardeschi has made eight league starts for Fiorentina this season.
