Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena has reportedly turned down the chance to join an unnamed Premier League club ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
The 22-year-old struggled for action at Camp Nou in the first half of the current season and was subsequently sent on loan to Real Betis, where he has made 10 appearances.
The Spain Under-21 international is due to return to his parent club this summer, and a recent report claimed that he was in the plans of head coach Quique Setien moving forward.
According to Sport, Barca recently accepted a €25m (£22m) offer for the midfielder from an unnamed Premier League club.
Alena allegedly turned down the chance to move to England, though, as he is determined to fight for a first-team spot at Camp Nou.
The Spaniard's existing deal with the Spanish champions is due to expire in June 2022.
