Lawyers for Barcelona forward Neymar have reportedly failed in an attempt to pay his release clause.
On Wednesday, the Catalan outfit announced that Neymar had expressed a desire to join Paris Saint-Germain, who are willing to meet his release clause of £198m.
However, La Liga has indicated that it is against processing the transfer of the Brazilian and according to Sky Sports News, it has rejected an attempt for the astronomical fee to be paid.
It has been claimed that the 25-year-old has already agreed to terms of a five-year deal with the French side worth £515,000 per week, but it appears that there remains a stumbling block to overcome before any switch is officially announced.
While La Liga does not want the transfer to be completed, UEFA has indicated that it will be unable to stand in PSG's way, despite financial fair-play potentially being a factor.
